Airbnb has made another investment as it looks to expand further in the tours and activities space.
The home-sharing unicorn led a $60 million funding round for Amsterdam-based Tiqets.
Tiqets enables people to book tickets for museums and other attractions worldwide.
The company was founded in 2014 and lists bout 3,000 attractions.
It also works with numerous travel agency groups and online travel platforms.
Including the latest funding, which includes fresh capital from early investor HPE Growth and Investion, the company has raised about $100 million to date.
The funding will be used to accelerate growth. It has offices in Seattle, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Philadelphia.
“Travellers are seeking out a diverse range of experiences when they visit a new city,” said Philippe Magid, Airbnb art and culture director.
“The Tiqets team has effectively used new technology to connect travellers to communities and we are excited to support their work.”
Tiqets CEO Luuc Elzinga says Airbnb’s investment is just a financial one at the moment but may develop into a more meaningful business relationship over time.
