American Airlines is speeding up the return of its Sydney-Los Angeles nonstop service.
It had originally been paused until mid-2021, but will now restart it from 12 November.
It will serve LAX four times a week on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
AA is also planning to fly three cargo-only flights per week.
Australia has imposed an international travel ban and the service will be only for those with authority to leave and re-enter Australia.
American Airlines will ‘continue to work closely with the Australian government as needed to ensure our compliance on this route,’ airline spokesperson Nichelle Tait said.
Both United Airlines and Delta serve the route.
Aussie flag carrier Qantas codeshares with American on its long haul Sydney routes.
