ANA Holdings is rolling out cashless payment options with a new business called ANA Pay.
It will be initially available to the airline’s 37 million members of the ANA Mileage Club, as the airline looks to grow new revenue streams.
Slated to launch before the year-end, members will be able to use their smartphone to add miles through daily shopping, via a link with JCB credit cards.
For every 1,000 Yen spent, between six to 16 miles can be earned, depending on the type of card.
The cashless payment service will utilise QR codes at physical and online stores, and will also link to the ANA Mileage Club app.
