Austrian Airlines is coming to Beantown.
The Lufthansa Group backed carrier will launch flights between Vienna and Boston Logan on March 29, 2020 using Boeing 767 aircraft.
The service will initially run four times a week, and will then increase to six times weekly from mid-April.
Flight time is about nine hours.
It will be the first time Boston has been connected nonstop with Vienna.
It adds to Boston’s growing role as a hub for transatlantic Europe flights.
It is set to overtake Miami and Washington DC as a larger hub with more routes to Europe.
Austrian is also upgrading its Chicago route by moving all departures to larger Boeinng777 service from March 2020
Two out of its seven weekly flights are currently operated by Boeng 767s.
