Sandals Resorts International is introducing the Beaches Resorts brand to a new Caribbean destination.
It will enter the St. Vincent market after acquiring Buccament Bay Spa and Resort, which has been closed for several years.
The property will be ‘completely transformed.’
It becomes the fourth Beaches resort and the first in the Eastern Caribbean.
Sandals had been in talks to take over the resort for more than a year.
The resort nestles within a mountain range and neighboring rainforest and is just a short drive from the new Argyle International Airport.
“Investing in St. Vincent was not only compelling, but a natural next step for continued expansion within the Eastern Caribbean,” said SRI founder and chairman Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart.
There is no news yet on when the resort is slated to open.
It joins other Beaches Resorts in Jamaica and Turks & Caicos.
According to Adam Stewart, SRI deputy chairman, the St Vincent property will undergo extensive renovations.
