It may sound too good to be true, but San Luis Obispo, California, is paying their tourists.
Unril March 31, the Californian city is paying $100 to the first 500 tourists who visit the city.
So how do you get paid? Just book a two-night stay at a local hotel and send a confirmation of the booking to the city’s official email address, firstname.lastname@example.org. From there, you’ll receive a promotion confirmation number.
Then when you visit San Luis Obispo, all you need to do is carve out a bit of your time to take your confirmation number, proof of booking, and hotel room key to the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center.
They’ll hand you the $100 in cash right then and there!
Keep in mind that there are some limits to the deal. Don’t book your trip for January 19 or February 16 and 17 as these are three blackout dates that don’t qualify for the promotion. Also, it doesn’t look like everyone in your party will receive the $100. The person who receives a confirmation number from the hotel booking is the one who is given the cash.
While you may have your sights set on the $100, there are plenty of reasons to visit San Luis Obispo. With attractions like an 18th-century Spanish mission, Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, hiking trails at Bishop Peak, and the famous Bubblegum Alley, a walkway filled with 2 million pieces of chewed bubble gum, you’re sure to have a fun getaway!
