Delta Air Lines is supporting the front line fight against coronavirus by offering free round trip flights for medical volunteers.
It is available for travel to Georgia, Louisiana, and Michigan and can be booked three days in advance.
Delta says it hopes to soon add more states including New York, Washington and California, which have all been hard hit by the outbreak.
“We are witnessing the heroic efforts of our medical professionals around the world as they combat covid-19, and we have deep gratitude for their selfless sacrifice,” said Bill Lentsch, chief customer experience officer at Delta. #
“Our hope is that offering free travel gives more of these professionals the ability to help in critical areas of the US.”
Each prospective volunteer has to contact the state government to see if they are eligible for the respective medical volunteering program.
Delta will then work with each state to organize flights starting from April.
The free flight offer will continue for several weeks if needed, Delta said.
