Emirates Spinnaker Tower has been awarded a VisitEngland Quality Food and Drink Accolade.
The prestigious award is testament to high standards achieved in both of the cafés at the visitor attraction.
Tracy Pratt, Food & Beverage Manager, Emirates Spinnaker Tower, “It is an honour to receive a Quality Food & Drink Accolade from VisitEngland. Our food and drink menus at the Tower vary greatly, from spectacular high teas at 105 metres to mouth-watering cod and chips in the Waterfront Café, all with the most spectacular view. We are always striving to innovate with our food offering and work with a range of local suppliers to use the finest ingredients and support the local economy. After winning silver at the Beautiful South Awards in December, it’s shaping up to be a very successful year for our two cafés.”
The VisitEngland Accolades were first introduced in 2014 and are given to businesses in the quality schemes that have gone the extra mile in providing a quality visitor experience. To receive an Accolade, businesses must be nominated by a VisitEngland assessor.
Visit England, “In order to be considered for this accolade, the catering operation will be managed and run in a professional manner, with skilled and friendly staff. Menus will be interesting and innovative and might be themed to the attraction. The provenance of local food will be strong. Overall it will be an enjoyable and memorable experience that visitors will be eager to repeat. The VisitEngland accolade is achievable, however small the café.”
Emirates Spinnaker Tower has two cafés; the Waterfront Café on the ground floor and The Clouds café on View Deck 2, 105 metres high. The Clouds was awarded silver for Café/Tearoom of the Year at the Beautiful South Awards in December.
Soaring 170 metres high, the Emirates Spinnaker Tower is the centrepiece of the £38 million ‘Renaissance of Portsmouth Harbour’ redevelopment project, combining stunning views by day or night. Three view decks offer views of up to 23 miles across Portsmouth Harbour, The Solent, Isle of Wight and beyond.
