Christmas candles made from 100% recycled hotel candle wax
In an effort to reduce hotel waste, Red Carnation Hotels partners with The Recycled Candle Company, which collects old candles from the hotel and recycles the wax to make new candles. It is the only wax recycling business in the UK, preventing up to 400kg of wax going to landfill every month. This Christmas, The Recycled Candle Company is creating and selling Winter Spice fragrance Christmas tree candles using wax gathered from Red Carnation Hotels, as well as other participating organisations. Red Carnation’s partnership with The Recycled Candle Company has been strengthened this year with Guernsey properties The Duke of Richmond and The Old Government House Hotel joining all six London properties in collecting and donating their old candles and making the up-cycled Christmas tree candles available for purchase at the hotel.

Introducing José Pauco, MVP London Concierge of the Year
José Pauco, Head Concierge at The Milestone Hotel & Residences:
A Golden Key hotel concierge is synonymous with the most exceptional levels of service and hospitality – it’s said that concierges who are fortunate enough to earn this prestigious golden brooch possess the key to the entire city. The Milestone Hotel & Residences is proud to have no less than three Golden Key concierges. Born and raised in London, José has been at The Milestone Hotel for 20 years, and he is the current MVP London Concierge of the Year, a prestigious accolade awarded by The Society of Golden Keys of Great Britain, Les Clefs d’Or. A story José shared which epitomizes Red Carnation’s ethos of “no request is too large, no detail too small” was when a hotel guest asked him on Christmas Eve to purchase a Saint Bernard puppy and arrange delivery just in time for Christmas morning. José succeeded, and the hotel guests were delighted.

A special evening with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
Red Carnation’s six London properties have recently partnered with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) to offer guests a collection of enlightening musical experiences – from in-suite recitals at The Milestone Hotel & Residences, to sold-out tickets for performances in venues across London.
