Spanish tour operator Hidden in Spain announced the launch of a 7-night “Land, Air and Sea” honeymoon vacation package for 2020 with numerous excursions options that include private guided tours by e-bikes, sailboats and helicopters. Other options include a hot air balloon ride over a volcano and a 4×4 vineyard tour. Accommodations feature junior suites in a 4-Star hotel with a private Jacuzzi and panoramic views of the marina in Barcelona and a 4-Star “adults only” hotel that boasts Balinese beds around the pool, free Spa treatments, and chauffeured private tours.
Prices for the “Land, Air and Sea” honeymoon packages start at $3,500 per person, based on double occupancy and vary depending on selected options. They include all accommodations, most meals, domestic transport, selected tours and admission fees per the itinerary. Prices are also based on the euro, whose rates can vary.
“Today’s honeymooners still want to be pampered, with all the details of their vacations taken care of, but they also want to create unique memories that will last a lifetime,” said Luis Fernandez de Vega, founder of Hidden in Spain. “What could be more memorable than flying over a volcano or a 4X4 ride? We take care of every aspect of their vacation, ensuring complete exclusivity, with private guides that cater to all of their needs.”
The honeymoon packages are part of Hidden in Spain’s growing number of pre-planned and customizable tours that include Andalusia Holidays, Wine and Food Lovers Tours, Golf Tours, and Camino de Santiago on some of the world’s oldest Christian pilgrimage routes.
Above and Beyond
Hidden in Spain’s “Land, Air and Sea” honeymoon tour begins in Barcelona, where the newlyweds will stay in a junior suite at a 4-star hotel that features a private Jacuzzi and terrace with a view of the city’s marina. They will be greeted with a gift basket of champagne and chocolates in their room. The next day, they can enjoy a romantic dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant or a carefully selected local restaurant, where they will receive the VIP treatment. Over the next few days, they can enjoy excursions that include a land tour on e-bikes or by luxury private minivan. They can also cruise the warm waters of the Mediterranean on a sailboat, following the dramatic coastline of Barcelona.
“More adventurous newlyweds can also do a 15-minute helicopter ride over the city or take the teleferic (cable car) up the city’s scenic Montjuïc hill,” said Fernandez de Vega. “It’s an incredible place where they can visit a castle and stroll the grounds, all the while taking in a spectacular and breathtaking 360 degree view of Barcelona harbor.”
Other excursions include a tour of the works by Spain’s most famous architect, Antonio Gaudi. This can include a visit to the Sagrada Familia, a Roman Catholic basilica that is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Newlyweds can also take a balloon ride over the volcano of Garrocha Natural Park, enjoy a traditional Catalan breakfast, and visit Besalu, a medieval village in the area. Food lovers can take an excursion to a local winery that includes a 4×4 tour of the vineyard and a tasting of wines and cavas, a Spanish sparkling wine, along with some tapas.
An Island Paradise
The honeymoon continues with a flight to Menorca, a “Mediterranean island paradise” that features some of the best beaches in Europe, with warm turquoise waters that are often compared to those of the Caribbean. The island is also a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve thanks to its incredible natural diversity that ensures an unforgettable sightseeing experience. The visit includes a stay in an all-inclusive 4-star “adults only” hotel, in a junior suite with a panoramic view of the bay. The hotel features Balinese beds around the pool, a wide range of restaurants and bars, and free Spa access. A private car and chauffer is included to explore the island at the couple’s own pace.
By land, newlyweds can tour a winery for a tasting of local wines and cheeses. They can also take a Jeep tour through the lesser known and “hidden” parts of the island, through the “less traveled” paths that can only be accessed in a 4-wheel vehicle, visiting charming island villages and hidden beaches. By sea, they can hop on a private yacht or sailboat to visit some of the island’s most beautiful coves and streams. Along the way, they can drop anchor to swim in the turquoise waters that are so clear one can actually see to the bottom.
On the final day, couples will fly back to Barcelona for their return home. Extra days can be added to the tour. These can include a “fiesta” on Ibiza, the famed party island, with admission to some of the best discos in the area. Newlyweds can also extend their honeymoons with tours in other parts of the country.
Hidden in Spain also offers Canary Islands honeymoon packages to Fuerteventura, La Palma, Lanzarote, La Gomera, Tenerife, Maspalomas in Gran Canaria, and El Hierro, among other destinations in Spain.
