A Coast of Celebrations
Kicking off right from 1st December, you’ll find brightly decorated streets, festive scenes and colourful processions livening up Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. With fun floats, folk dancers, great music and fireworks, processions are a sight not to be missed.
Traditional Pilgrimages bring hundreds of people together around the Virgin of Guadalupe and are accompanied by chants, praises, band music and mariachi. Commemorated in a peculiar way for 98 years in Puerto Vallarta, they remain an important custom.
During Christmas Week, 16–24 December, the regions celebrate with beautiful gatherings called posadas, and on Christmas Day itself, huge parties full of festive dishes, piñatas and Mexican Christmas traditions take place.
