JetBlue has revealed the start date of its planned nonstop service between Ft. Lauderdale and Grand Cayman.
The service begins on October 25, and the airline has announced an introductory fare starting at $59 one-way to mark the launch.
The new Ft. Lauderdale route adds to JetBlue’s Cayman Islands service which already includes flights from New York and seasonally from Boston.
The short route will be flown with 100-seat Embraer 190 aircraft.
“As the number one carrier in Ft. Lauderdale, and building on the momentum of our success in both South Florida and Grand Cayman, we are excited to offer more choice and more destinations to customers,” said John Checketts, vice president network planning, JetBlue.
“With even more connecting choices from across our network, Grand Cayman has never been so close.”
The new Grand Cayman service strengthens JetBlue’s position as the top airline at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, where it plans to operate up to 140 daily flights a day in the coming years.
