Nonprofit Partner SASANE launches trekking business
In 2014, G Adventures provided SASANE, a nonprofit based in Nepal that provides training and resources to survivors of human trafficking, with a $25,000 USD grant to develop a cooking class for our travellers. Today we see the impact of this partnership, as SASANE is now ready to launch their own trekking company! Led by a survivor guide, SASANE will bring adventurous hikers to communities with a higher risk of trafficking, helping to bring a new income source to rural villages as a way to target the key vulnerabilities in human trafficking.
“Mostar, our last stop in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is literally named for its famous bridge that links the two sides of a (historically) culturally polarised town. Even with the cloud cover the water looks stunning!” Photo by @shaunmoore41.
