Marriott International has signed a landmark deal with Sunwing Travel Group which will see multiple Royalton Resorts join Marriott’s Autograph Collection brand.
Nineteen of Sunwing’s Blue Diamond Resorts’ properties will join the Autograph Collection by mid-2021.
They will benefit from Marriott’s global distribution and adds to the portfolio of hotels available for Marriott Bonvoy loyalty members in the Caribbean region and Costa Rica.
It also significantly expands Marriott’s all-inclusive portfolio in the region, which has been an area the company has been focusing on prior to the pandemic.
“Sunwing Travel Group’s premium, all-inclusive resorts will serve as excellent additions to the Marriott portfolio, adding two new leisure destinations – St. Lucia and Antigua – to our footprint and doubling our presence in this segment,” said Tony Capuano, Mariott’s Group President, Global Development, Design and Operations Services.
It includes several resorts in Mexico, such as Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa and Royalton CHIC Suites Cancun, resorts in Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St Lucia, Costa Rica and Antigua.
The partnership will ‘further elevate our award-winning hotels, while supporting Marriott’s expansion into the all-inclusive category,’ said Stephen Hunter, CEO, Sunwing Travel Group.
Blue Diamond Resorts has a portfolio of 45 properties, comprising more than 15,000 rooms in ten countries.
