Mirihi Island, Maldives, Introduces a ‘One Child Stays Free’ Family Offering for Summer 2018
One Child Under 12 Can Play, Stay and Eat for Free
Between 20th May – 8th September
[mirihi.com]Mirihi Island, Maldives is pleased to introduce an exclusive family offering between 20th May – 8th September 2018, where one child under 12 years old will stay free of charge in the same accommodation as their parents. With a medley of water and land-based activities for adults and children to enjoy, this summer, Mirihi is the ideal barefoot island retreat for parents and little ones alike.
Families will revel in the chance to switch off and enjoy each other’s company at Mirihi, where ‘digital-detoxing’ is very much part of everyday life. The remote island has purposefully chosen not to place televisions in its charming villas or Wi-Fi in the restaurants, naturally encouraging families to communicate with one another instead of reaching for their mobile devices, iPads or the remote.
The emerald gem is surrounded and protected by a spectacular house reef with coral and exotic fish in a myriad of colours. Water-babies of all ages can explore the crystal blue waters either by kayaking or snorkelling with the island’s complimentary snorkelling gear.
Children over eight years old can take part in their very own underwater adventure by participating in child-friendly diving courses conducted by the island’s professional Ocean Pro Mirihi diving team. In the shallow waters, little ones will delight in the opportunity to spot octopuses, green turtles and even black and white tip reef sharks amongst other tropical marine life.
For those who prefer to spend their time on land, Mirihi offers an extensive array of island activities such as table tennis, board games and even a cinema under the stars every Friday evening, which shows a variety of family favourites such as Finding Nemo and The Little Mermaid.
For foodie families, there’s even a mocktail class and chocolate tasting session, where children can learn how to create exotic and colourful juices whilst indulging in a delicious selection of sugary treats.
Sunset sailing trips, whale-shark safaris and visits to a local island are also available for guests to enjoy.
This boutique hotel has only 37 rooms and a warm, welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff that will cater to guests every need. With sand covered floors throughout much of the hotel, guests can relax upon arrival where they will be encouraged to abandon their shoes and enjoy their stay barefoot with the powder-soft sand between their toes.
Nightly rates start from $670 (£479*) per villa, on a half-board basis, based on two adults and one child sharing. Valid from 20th May until 8th September 2018. Please note that all rates are subject to 10% service charge and 12% GST. Return seaplane transfers to Mirihi Island from Male are priced at $526.40 (£374*) per person, with a 50% discount given to children under 12 years old. Certain activities cost extra.
