MSC Cruises is joining the growing number of cruise lines offering summer sailings for the local market around the UK coastline.
Starting from 20 May, MSC will offer a series of short cruises and week-long sailings for UK residents only from the new terminal in Southampton.
The seven-night sailings will offer additional ports of embarkation.
More details of the UK sailings will be announced shortly.
“We understand how important this particular summer is to holidaymakers and we’re committed to providing guests with a range of fantastic activities in a healthy and safe environment,” said Antonio Paradiso, Managing Director MSC Cruises UK & Ireland.
It’s time for UK holidaymakers to get back on board and enjoy a well-deserved break from what has been a very challenging 12 months for everyone in so many ways.”
All guests will be tested prior to embarkation, while non-vaccinated guests will also be required to show proof of a negative test done within 72 hours before embarkation.
Ship crew will also receive weekly testing, as well as other health monitoring measures.
Sailings will have a reduced capacity and implement social distancing and the wearing of face coverings.
“We are also working on a programme of protected shore excursions for our guests to experience the destinations we will visit following our successful experience since last summer in other markets,” Paradiso added.
“We believe that this special offering will provide UK holidaymakers with a unique summer of cruising.”
