Japan Airlines Group airlines Japan Air Commuter and Hokkaido Air System are joining main carrier JAL in airline alliance oneworld.
JAL joined oneworld in 2007, and is the majority shareholder in both airlines.
They join as oneworld affiliates.
The two airlines add four new destinations in Japan to the oneworld network, starting from 25 October.
These are Kikai, Okinoerabu, Tajima and Yakushima.
Combined, Japan Air Commuter and Hokkaido Air System fly to 20 regional destinations and pre-pandemic operated more than 90 flights a day.
“With our oneworld partners, we look forward to welcoming customers across the world and help revitalise regional sites throughout the country,” said Japan Airlines Division Executive Officer, Shunsuke Honda.
Flights will be offered under the JL airline code.
