Qatar Airways is adding a new West Coast destination next year.
It will start serving Seattle from March 2021 and has inked a frequent-flyer partnership with Seattle based Alaska Airlines.
Seattle will become the airline’s 11th US destination and will be served four times a week from Doha.
Flights will be operated on Airbus A350-900 jets.
Before then, it will launch a frequent-flyer arrangement with Alaska Airlines offering the ability to earn and redeem miles on the two carriers’ networks.
This begins from 15 December.
Members of each airline program may access the respective airport lounges from 31 March, when Alaska formally joins the oneworld alliance as a full member.
In the meantime Qatar Airways said they are ‘working closely on developing a codeshare agreement and commercial co-operation’ ahead of Alaska Airlines becoming a oneworld member.
