Royal Caribbean International is going to where the vaccinated customers are to restart operations in the Med.
It will start sailing from Israel for the first time this summer.
Israel is the nation with the highest percentage of population already vaccinated.
It will offer Eastern Mediterranean sailings out of Haifa aboard new ship Odyssey of the Seas.
There will be three- and seven-night voyages to the Greek Islands and Cyprus from May, with calls at Rhodes, Santorini and Mykonos.
Sailings will go on sale 9 March.
“We are thrilled to debut Royal Caribbean cruises from Israel with our newest and most innovative ship, Odyssey of the Seas,” said CEO Michael Bayley.
“Israeli travelers will be looking to get away, relax with total peace of mind, and enjoy the travel experiences they are missing dearly. Sailing from Israel is an opportunity we have had our sights on for quite some time.”
The cruises are initially for Israeli residents with fully vaccinated sailings, with all crew and adult guests required to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
