Despite still rising infection rates across the US, Singapore Airlines sees ‘promising signs for recovery’ in the Asia-US market segment.
It is boosting schedules to daily nonstop flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York JFK from 18 January 2021.
SIA will operate Airbus A350-900 long range aircraft to JFK and San Francisco, in a two-class configuration and continue operating a three-class service to LA.
The airline says there is increasing confidence in air travel especially with the rollout of the Covid vaccine now underway..
“Our commitment to the US market remains strong, and we will continue to invest in building our schedule and network to accommodate a longer-term return to travel,” said Joey Seow, Singapore Airlines’ Regional Vice President – Americas.
“We are seeing some promising signs for recovery in international air travel.”
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline operated 57 flights a week to the US.
SIA this month resumed limited flights to New York JFK and San Francisco to add to its existing three flights a week to Los Angeles.
Next month all three routes become daily services.
