Ski chalet specialist Skibeat has revealed the dates for its Vegan Ski Weeks for the 2019-20 ski season.
It introduced the special weeks last season after a sharp rise in demand from vegan guests.
The Brighton-based company, which has 54 chalets across nine French resorts, says bookings from guests following vegan, vegetarian and other diets are at an all-time high.
Sales and marketing director Laura Hazell: “Ten years ago it was rare to be asked for special menus. Now, we have so many requests that, while we can cater for just one guest’s dietary requirement in a chalet of others eating our regular menu, this year we’re also offering guests dates when they can book into a chalet where others are already following a preferred diet, whether it’s vegan, vegetarian or based around food intolerances.”
According to The Vegan Society, the number of vegans in the UK has quadrupled in the five years to 2019, with 250,000 signing up to Veganuary in 2019.
