If you’re looking for a glamourous glamping getaway that’s fit for royalty, this Andalusian gem is the ultimate romantic escape. Perched in the hills high above the picturesque white village of Casares and with far-reaching views, DDG Retreat’s aptly named Royal Suite takes glamping to a princely new level – and for stays before the end of June, you can also enjoy a complimentary sharing platter for two served with the compliments of the owners.
One of just three ultra-luxe casitas set on a stunning woodland estate, this super-luxe canvas casita comes complete with stylish interiors, marble floors, chandeliers, a pre-stocked wine fridge and Nespresso coffee-maker, its own private cinema, and even your own choice of pillow from a special menu. There’s plenty of private outdoor space, a stunning hot tub perfect for a glass of bubbles as you marvel at unforgettable sunsets and, new for 2018, there’s a telescope on site for star gazing.
Royal is one of two super-tents launched at the Retreat only last summer – and for those seeking a more traditional bolt-hole, there’s also an artisan cottage, Casa Pino, which has been a firm favourite with guests since this adults-only couples retreat opened seven years ago. With each casa designed specifically for just two guests, the Retreat is an oasis of calm and tranquillity and its excellent shared facilities are never overcrowded – take a dip in the sky-blue infinity pool, find a hammock for an al fresco siesta, keep fit in the mini-gym or tennis court, lounge in the sauna and steam room, or pamper yourself with an indulgent spa treatment in the Retreat’s cabanah hidden away amongst the trees
DDG Retreat – located an hour’s drive from Malaga airport – has a Trip Advisor Excellent five-star rating; was shortlisted for the World Luxury Hotel Awards in 2016 and was nominated for the World Boutique Hotel Awards for 2017 after personal recommendations from guests in the categories for best Relaxation Retreat and best Honeymoon Hideaway.
