St. Lawrence Cruise Lines confirmed it plans to go ahead with its 2021 season sailing the St. Lawrence and Ottawa rivers from May to October.
Despite Transport Canada extending the cruise ship ban for a full year, the line will offer its small ship cruising alternative which is exempt from the no sail order.
It is deploying the 32-stateroom Canadian Empress, with an all-Canadian crew.
“We are excited to offer travelers a small ship option for the 2021 season. Our overnight cruises stay close to shore in Canadian waters and our Covid-19 Health and Safety program has been recognized for its high standards,” said company President Jason Clark.
St. Lawrence Cruise Lines has been awarded the Safe Travels Stamp by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario.
The line will offer cruises from four to seven nights out of Kingston, Ottawa and Quebec City.
The domestic cruises will call at select ports in Ontario and Quebec.
The 2021 cruising season runs from 20 May through 24 October.
