Tourism professionals in southeast Anatolia want to increase the amount of visitors to the spot with bus tours that they can integrate with the Kurtalan Express, among the oldest railway lines in Turkey.
Departing from the administrative centre Ankara, the Kurtalan Express completes a member of family type of 1,212 kilometers in 23 hours and stops at a lot more than 70 stations in seven cities.
Tourism professionals have already been attempting to up the selling point of the 74-year-old express to travelers.
New stations are increasingly being developed in order that local and foreign tourists can go to the southeastern Anatolia’s historical and natural wonders.
Tourists should be able to visit cities in your community on buses that depart from Batman Station, the final stop of the express, and they’ll return via train again from Diyarbakır Station.

The first trial tour organized beneath the guidance of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB) has recently won the recognition of visitors.
Regional Chamber of Guides Müslüm Çoban told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the brand new trend in Turkey would be to travel by train.
Çoban explained that tourists have fallen deeply in love with the Orient Express (Doğu Ekspres) and folks who wish to experience different journeys will undoubtedly be thinking about such tours.
He noted that the cities in the southeast Anatolia are near each other which makes the tour plans easier.
“It really is difficult to find a ticket for the Doğu Ekspres. In southeastern Anatolia, there’s the Kurtalan Express, aswell. TURSAB Southeastern Regional Executive Chairman Şemsettin Yıldız said they are working very difficult to build up the tourism in your community.
“We received a reservation for a tour integrated with the Kurtlan Express on Oct. 29. You want to advance these reservations. We try to organize tours with the express on the precise days of per month and intend to arrange long-term tours which will comprise many cities in your community,” he said.
“Our region is more advantageous compared to the Doğu Ekpres’s route. It isn’t possible to see a variety of places on that journey but on the Kurtalan Express, people can easily see Diyarbakır, Mardin, Gaziantep, Şanlıbatman and urfa. You want to continue tours in your community by train,” he explained.
