Uber is stealing a march on rival Lyft with its new loyalty program now live in nine US cities.
Uber Rewards is available initially in Miami, New Jersey, Denver, Tampa, New York, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta and San Diego.
Lyft also recently unveiled its own frequent rider program which goes live in December.
Uber Rewards members can earn points for every dollar spent across all Uber services including all rides and Uber Eats food delivery.
It ranges from one to three points per dollar depending on the service.
Reward tiers are Blue, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.
Gold members and above will be allowed to cancel rides for free.
Higher tier perks include priority pick up at airports and ‘surprise upgrades.’
