New cruise startup Virgin Voyages is now officially open for business in Australia.
It is now accepting transactions in AUD and encouraging new ‘First Mate’ travel advisors to get aboard.
Virgin Voyages has partnered with Aussie-based GSA Travel The World to handle travel advisor onboarding and travel trade support.
“A First Mate is the Captain’s most trusted confidant and right hand, which is how Virgin Voyages sees travel partners, because their input and guidance has been critical to the development of our sales strategy,” said Virgin Voyages’ CCO, Nirmal Saverimuttu.
Australian agents can learn more about the Virgin Voyages brand at FirstMates.com.
It offers downloadable marketing and sales tools as well as the opportunity to join the First Mates SeaCiety – an exclusive agent learning community.
Uniquely the full cruise fare is fully commissionable including taxes and fees.
“The Virgin brand has always resonated strongly with Aussies, who have historically appreciated a challenger mentality,” Saverimuttu added.
Virgin Group chief Richard Branson says the line’s second ship could head to Australian in the future.
Branson said he has spoken with Sydney port authority.
He also announced Virgin’s Tail to Sail holiday packages for Aussies through Virgin Australia Holidays which includes return flights from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne to Miami.
