Rail operator Brightline confirmed it will open a train station at Walt Disney World.
Brightline inked an agreement with Walt Disney World for a station located at Disney Springs, which will be connected to Brightline’s Florida rail network via Orlando International Airport.
The Disney Springs station will have a ground floor concourse with various passenger services and an upper level platform where trains depart.
The station will be close to four theme parks, the two water parks and 25 hotels, via Disney’s transportation network.
It is described as ‘a bold, forward-looking transportation solution for our community and guests,’ according to Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World Resort.
There has been no confirmed timeline for work on the Disney Springs line extension.
The rail link to Orlando is expected to be completed in 2022.
“Brightline will offer a car-free connection to the millions of visitors from around the state and the world who plan to make Walt Disney World Resort part of their vacation plans,” said Patrick Goddard, President of Brightline.
