Wyndham Hotels & Resorts announced plans to open its first hotels in Himalayan nations Nepal and Bhutan.
The company unveiled Ramada Encore by Wyndham Kathmandu Thamel in Nepal which is opening this summer.
Few details have been revealed but the hotel offers 90 guest rooms and a range of hotel amenities.
Situated in the Thamel district of the capital, it will open in August 2020.
It is also opening Ramada by Wyndham Valley Thimpu in Bhutan in March 2021.
The property will have 41 rooms, with many unlocking views of the Himalayas.
“Bhutan and Nepal have seen a steady increase in tourism, making them ideal destinations for us to expand into,” said Wyndham’s area director, Nikhil Sharma.
“What’s more, they perfectly complement the opportunity and uptick of the midscale market in India.”
Wyndham operates 48 hotels across India and Sri Lanka, and sees more growth potential across the Indian subcontinent.
